Comp exchanges, baptisim, and elections

July 2, 2012

Why hello there one and all! Sure hope this finds you all well.

This week was a blast and we did some good work. This week marked my 6 month mark out here in the mission. That is 1/4 of the way! It is going by soooo fast!

Well this week the memorable moments were we saw a group of probably 60 or so American teenagers doing a volunteer service thing here in our area, I went and talked with them for a while. It was quite funny/weird/nice to see so many Americans.

This week we also had companion exchanges. I headed over to Terrazes with Elder Rushton who came in at the same time as me. It was pretty cool that we were able to do all the work without a native and be able to get a long with the language and everything. It definitely is not very effective though to have two guerros, nobody really wants to listen. But I learned some really good things from him that we have been able to put into effect here in this area.

Yesterday we had the baptism of Armando. He is just awesome. I was blessed to be able to baptize him. After, when we were changing, I asked him how he was feeling, he just said "perfect". That just made me feel so good. The difference that the gospel makes in the lives of the people we come in contact with is incredible.

Well yesterday was the elections for Mexico, and so we had to be in our apartment by 6:00. It was quite early and we didn't really have anything to do, so we moved our couch got all comfortable and watched all the church movies we have. The only thing we were missing was some popcorn. Oh how I miss popcorn. But it is all worth the pain!

Well yesterday, before we headed back to the house, we watched the Testaments with Armando and his family. That movie is just great, I love it! The end of it is just so powerful. After we watched it it just stayed on the menu while we had a little lesson/testimony. During this on the menu the tab choir was singing "This is the Christ". It was just one of those moments. You could feel the Spirit so strong testifying that Jesus really is the Christ.

I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, my Redeemer. I know that he suffered for every pain, sin, sorrow that I have done or felt. He is there for each of us when we need him. It is an incredible feeling to be a representative of Him and to share His Gospel with everyone.

Well I hope all is great with all of you. I love you all so much.

Elder Tommy Anderson
