Why hello there! I just love this time of season, don’t you? Everyone here is just starting to put of Christmas lights and Christmas trees and just all that great stuff. This week we were able to help some of our investigators on Thanksgiving put up their Christmas tree and then we sang Christmas songs. It was great.
So this was a great week. We had a lot of success, and we were able to do a lot of service also. We cut down a palm tree this week with pick axes and sledge hammers, we set up the Christmas tree. Oh yeah, this week we also had a leak in our toilet, so I had to pull out my plumbing skills and get to work. I think I could do that for a profession. It definitely was when the land lord came that he broke some stuff and had to call the real plumber.
But this week really was full of a lot of success. We found many new investigators, had lots of lessons, had more success with the members, we had 4 baptismal dates, and well yeah just lots of good stuff. And then Sunday came and nobody came to church. All of the dates fell and we are gonna have to just drop everyone. But you know what, all that means is that we are gonna work harder this week and we are going to just invite more people!
So we have two investigators named Janneth and Sarah whose husbands are members but they aren’t and cant get baptized till they get married and well have issues blocking them from getting married. But they are so cool. They are some of the strongest people in the Gospel ever. We introduced them to each other and have brought one with the other to lessons and they are now the best of friends (It is actually them in the picture of the Christmas tree).
The talk by the Stake President reminded me of a quote that I like a lot by Elder Dallin H. Oaks from his talk in the October 2000 General Conference, he said, "The final judgement is not just an evaluation of a sum total of good and evil acts-what we have done. It is an acknowledgment of the final effect of our acts and thoughts- what we have become. It is not enough for anyone just to go through the motions. The commandments, ordinances, and covenants of the Gospel are not a list of deposits required to be made in some heavenly account. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a plan that shows us how to become what our Heavenly Father desires us to become." It is so true what Elder Oaks said. We need to not only do, but become what it is that the Gospel is teaching us. That is when we will become great.
Well I hope you all have a loverly week.
I love you all sooooo much!
